- Alertness – the state of active attention by high sensory awareness such as being watchful and prompt to meet danger or emergency, or being quick to perceive and act.
- Integrity – the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
- Diligence – careful and persistent work or effort.

The Silver Shield is to be awarded to the most deserving guard employed by Blanchard Security and is given out every 3 months.
